Chart Summarizer
Vizlib Chart Summarizer generates summaries of your chart data to provide quick insights. Chart Summarizer is available for the following Vizlib extensions:
Bar Chart
Flow Chart
Pie Chart
Ridgeline Plot
Waterfall
Gantt
By default, Chart Summarizer uses an insightsoftware-based large language model (LLM), called Lineos AI, to generate summaries. If you want the Chart Summarizer to work with a third-party LLM of your choice, Enable Chart Summarizer and refer to Using Third-Party LLMs with Vizlib Extensions for detailed configuration steps.
Currently, you can configure third-party LLMs for Vizlib Bar Chart. The remaining extensions only work with Lineos AI.
Enable Chart Summarizer
Before you enable Chart Summarizer, make sure that the following prerequisites are fulfilled:
You have enabled the Use AI option in Property Panel > AI.
You have acknowledged the AI Usage Policy. You can find AI policy in Property Panel > AI Usage Policy. Confirm reading the AI Policy by clicking the Acknowledge Policy button.
You have enabled the Extended Context Menu option in Property Panel > Interactivity.
The Disallow AI usage on organization level property in User Portal > Account > Settings is disabled.
To enable Chart Summarizer, do the following:
Navigate to Property Panel > AI > Chart Summarizer.
Click the Enable Chart Summarizer checkbox.
You have enabled the Chart Summarizer. The software adds the Chart Summary option to the extension Context Menu available on right-click.
Use Chart Summarizer
To use Chart Summarizer, follow these steps:
Right-clik on the extension you want to summarize. The software displays context menu.
From the context menu, select the Chart Summary option. The software displays a pop-up where the summary is available.
