Advanced Text Object Properties

Use the Vizlib Advanced Text Object (VATO) properties panel to configure text and display settings, tooltips, appearance, interactivity, and actions.

Text, Show

Text and Show settings help you to manage your VATO display.

Text

You can enter the object Text in the expression editor, and select an icon to use in the object using the Icon Picker.

You can also set the Font Color, Font Size, Font Family, Font Style, and add a Drop Shadow.

Show

You can choose between two settings which Show the object, either Always or subject to a condition (Conditional).

Tooltip

The Tooltip menu has several configurable settings including effects and animations. To display the full Tooltip settings you'll need to select Enable Tooltip, then set the Tooltip Settings Mode to Advanced. You can also set the Tooltip Mode, and choose to Show Tooltip arrow and Show question mark on hover.

Tooltip Text

With Tooltip Text, you can set the Content Text, Content Color, and Content Background.

Tooltip Title, Size, Position

You can set the Tooltip Title by selecting Enable Title, then entering some Title Content, setting the Title Color and choosing a color for the Title Background. You can also set the title Size, customize the Tooltip Width, and set the tooltip Position, offsetting the tooltip value against the X or Y axis.

Events, Effects and Animations

With Events you can choose to enable Interactive Tooltip, and Show Tooltip on Page Load. Effects and Animations allow you to display animation effects in the object, and control the Speed, Delay and Hide Delay.

Appearance

Appearance settings help you manage the look and feel of your VATO.

General

The General settings allow you to enter a Title, Subtitle and Footnote, enable a Toggle off hover menu, and Show Details.

Alternate States

Alternate States allow you to set an alternate states to assign the object to an alternate selection state.

Layout

The Layout settings control settings to the Horizontal Alignment and Vertical Alignment of the object.

Border

You can enable the Border settings for the object by selecting a Border Style and setting a Border Width. You can customize the border with the Border Selector, set the Border Color, and use the sliders to set the Global Radius, Top Left Radius, Top Right Radius, Bottom Left Radius and Bottom Right Radius.

Background

Background settings let you control the appearance of the object background. You can choose between a Color, Image or URL, set the Background Color and Transparency level. When you extend the Extension Style, you can choose the Extension Background Color and Transparency level.

Interactivity, Actions

These settings control how users interact with the text object and allow you to integrate Vizlib Actions.

Interactivity

Interactivity settings control the ways in which users interact with the text object. You can enable Smart Editor to add an inline editor, and enable Animate Numbers to use animation to show when numbers are changed, setting an Animation duration.

You can also enable a Scroll, and enable a Vertical scroll, Horizontal scroll and Wrap text, as well as choosing to display a Full screen icon and a Take snapshot icon.

Vizlib Actions

Vizlib Actions settings allow you to integrate Vizlib Actions with the text object. You can use multiple actions in the same sheet. To use actions when you're in analysis mode, right-click on the sheet to open the context menu. Click Add Action to add an action, then apply the action settings (this example uses Selection in Field).
