Grid Chart Properties

Use the Vizlib Grid Chart properties panel to configure data and dimensions, customize appearance, and manage interactivity.

Data, Sorting, Data Handling

When you're working with the data in Vizlib Grid Chart, you can apply changes in the Data, Sorting and Data Handling settings.

Data - Dimensions and Measures

The Data section contains settings for the dimensions and measures in the grid chart.

Vizlib Grid Chart supports two dimensions, one for the X Axis and one for the Y Axis. You can choose to Include null values, set a Limitation from the dropdown (you can choose between a a fixed number (e.g. top 10 values only), an exact value and a relative value (e.g. show the top 50% of results). You can also add alternative dimensions by clicking Add alternative. There's more information about alternative dimensions in the Best Practice article.

Vizlib Grid Chart also supports two measures, the first controls the color and the second is displayed as you hover over the grid chart. You can choose a Number formatting option, with options from Auto, Number, Money, Date, Duration, Custom and a Measure expression.

Sorting

The Sorting settings allow you to customize the sort method used. You can Sort by expression, Sort numerically or Sort alphabetically, in Ascending or Descending order. You can find more information on sorting in Qlik Sense here.

Data Handling

With Data Handling, you can choose to Include zero values, if you don't need them to be displayed, enter a Calculation condition which needs to be met for the grid chart to make any calculations.

Appearance

The Appearance settings control the look and feel of your Vizlib Grid Chart, helping you apply custom features and colors.

General

With General settings, you can choose to Show titles, entering a Title, Subtitle, Footnote and select to Toggle off hover menu.

Alternate States

Alternate States allows you to assign the Vizlib Grid Chart to an alternate selection state. You can find more on alternate states here.

Presentation

In the Presentation settings, you can choose to Show Values, set a Display Mode, select the Point Shape and use the slider or Input Fields to set the Point Size. There is the Scale option which is either Auto or Fixed.

X-Axis

In the X-Axis settings you can set the Axis Position, choose to Show or Hide the Axis Title, set the Title Font Color, Title Font Size, Title Font Family, and Enable Title Breadcrumbs.

The Label settings allow you to Show or Hide Axis Labels, set the Label Font Color, Label Font Size, Label Char Limit, and Label Orientation.

Note: Please check, and adjust if required, the Label Char(acter) Limit if the label on a chart is getting cut off.

Y-Axis

In the Y-Axis settings you can set the Axis Position, choose to Show or Hide the Axis Title, set the Title Font Color, Title Font Size, Title Font Family and Enable Title Breadcrumbs.

The Label settings allow you to Show or Hide Axis Labels, set the Label Font Color, and Label Char Limit.

Note: Please check, and adjust if required, the Label Char(acter) Limit if the label on a chart is getting cut off.

Colors

Colors in Vizlib Grid Chart allow you to choose between three different Coloring Types: Single (applying a single color), Sequential (choosing from a color palette), and Expression (setting colors using a standard Qlik Sense expression). The following figure shows a sequential color setting, including options to Reverse Colors in the display and set a Null Value Color.

Legend

The Legend settings control the legend in the grid chart. If you enable Show Legend, you can set the Legend Orientation, Legend Position, Legend Title and Title Font Color.

You can also choose to show Legend Labels, set a Tick Font Size, enable Min/Max Tick Values, and set a Values Format and a Negative Values Format.

Interactivity

Interactivity settings control how users navigate through the grid chart, and how they interact with the chart data. You can enable Selections or keep the chart in read-only mode, enable Animations, and Show Tooltips on hover.

You can also use the Controls settings to display a Full Screen Button and a Snapshot Button.
